Boarding School Students
I've put my past behind
me...
but how do I explain it?
Students in boarding schools, especially
therapeutic Emo-
tional Growth (EG) boarding schools, face far more challenges than the average student. Students in boarding schools have lived away from home for anywhere from 1 to 3 years. They have been involved in analyzing their past mistakes, embracing a new and positive future, and
need to have a clear understanding of where they are headed to maximize a smooth transition to "the real world."
Eileen
offers a variety of services to address these
needs. Vocational evaluation and counseling
teaches the young person to change negatives to positives through outlining the many skills and achievements gained through involvement at the emotional growth school. |

The growth these students experience is obvious -- their ability to translate that growth towards employment and career concerns may not be.
Employment development
coaching gives the student language to communicate the "EG" experience to schools and employers, without feeling embarrassed or unsure.
Selection and discussion of career goals will also address "hot points" for the student. What sorts of attitudes and behaviors led to their enrollment at an EG school, and is their selection of future goals considering work environments, personality concerns, and sustained success?
Through
working with Eileen on overcoming vocational
barriers, the boarding school student is better informed, less anxious, and clearly enthusiastic about life after graduation. |
